Create an emission factor list

Emission factor lists are the basis for emissions calculations done during reporting.

The emission factor library uses the GHG framework to define the reporting data points and activities to be measured. Within each list, emission factors are described by name.

Never delete a list or list item. Deleting it removes it from all reporting. If the list or item has been used in reporting, it disappears and changes the reported data.

Add emission factors from our library

In Company setup, Advanced and Lists, select emission factor lists from the library.

Click “Add emission factors” to see the library content. Select a whole list or individual emission factors from a list. Emission factors can be selected from several lists.

Each emission factor shows detailed information, including when it was last updated, the factors for each scope, sources, units, and any assumptions. The items shown represent the latest version of the factor.

Adding emission factors from the library

Click “Next” to see an overview of the selected lists and items. Items can be removed in this view. Click “Confirm” to save the list and add it to the Lists view. A green tag on the right-hand side shows that it is an emission factor list.

If a selected emission factor has the same PrettyID as another factor in the list, it overrides that factor.

Additional information and options for selecting emission factors

Each list and list item has a PrettyID (in light grey text), which is a unique identifier. If the selected lists or list items are already in the setup, a warning is displayed because these factors will be overridden. The warning also shows if the existing list has a different name.

When adding lists and items, select current values, all values (including historical values from previous years), or selected values.
